Allotment site

Apply for an Allotment

All allotment sites currently have long waiting lists. If you apply, you are unlikely to receive a plot immediately. Your name will be added to the waiting list for your chosen site.

Considerations Before You Apply

• Time commitment: A well-maintained plot of 5 poles (approximately 125 square metres) typically requires around four hours of care each week. This may be more during peak growing months.
• Condition of plots: Available plots are often neglected and may require additional time and physical effort to restore to a suitable standard.
• Guidelines: Please read the council’s allotment cultivation guidelines before applying.
• Practical considerations: Consider your travelling time, ease of access, and how you will transport equipment and supplies.
• Rules: All plot holders must follow the council’s allotment rules.

What You’ll Need

• The name of the allotment site you are interested in (please choose the site closest to you).
• Your contact details.
• Important: Do not submit multiple applications. Duplicate requests will be removed.

What Happens Next

• You will receive a reference number—please keep this for your records.
• Your name will be added to the waiting list for your chosen site. Some waiting lists can be several years long.
• Completing this form should take approximately ten minutes.
